At Klemzig Kindergarten children learn by exploring, creating and experimenting within a play based program. Our aim is to foster: independence, curiosity, creativity and a strong sense of identity. Our Kindergarten provides a learning environment that reflects the cultural diversity of our community and opportunities for each child to explore and make discoveries regardless of race, religion or ability.

Positive behaviours are reinforced in our preschool, as well as the right to feel safe at all times.

When your child has entered into their first term at Klemzig Kindergarten we ask you to complete a Child Profile Sheet. The information provided by you along with the information the staff team has gained allows for an individual learning plan to be developed and implemented.

Our fortnightly program consists of activities for children to:

- Make discoveries.
- Explore their interests.
- Generate and seek answers to questions.
- Test their knowledge and hypotheses.
- Develop new skills and practice existing skills.

Each teaching staff member has a group of children that they work with and they monitor each child's individual learning plan. Children's skills and development are reported in the following ways:

- The Program.
- Observations.
- Samples of Children's work.
- Digital photos.
- Exploring their interests.
- Written assessment.
- Parent/teacher interviews.
- Newsletters.

As well as ongoing formal and informal communication between staff and parents.
